develoPPP Classic ideas competition

develoPPP Classic is a co-financing funding programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that supports established companies investing in developing and emerging countries.

The programme promotes public-private partnerships by funding projects that combine a company’s long-term business interests with measurable development impact for local communities. Selected companies receive financial support of €100,000 to €2 million, covering up to 50% of total project costs, while the company contributes the remaining share.

Projects can focus on areas such as sustainable supply chains, renewable energy, environmental standards, digitalisation, training of skilled workers, technology transfer, or improving social and environmental conditions. The programme is implemented by DEG Impulse gGmbH and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Funding decisions are made through competitive idea calls held twice per year. The programme is available in more than 60 developing and emerging countries worldwide.
